First Shoot Of 2012 – Yellow Groove

What a crazy Spring! Not even April and we have Yellow Groove (Phyllostachys  aureosulcata) bamboo shooting already. I have to admit, I have been checking the gardens daily and just when I had stopped looking for the day, I spotted this little guy. This is in our second, very small, Yellow Groove bed near the house. Perhaps that is why this one shot first – it is near the exhaust of the house AC/Heater vents. I have fencing around this one so the bunnies don’t get to it.
