New Spectabilis Shoots In July?

Got a surprise in our newest bed of Spectabilis bamboo, new shoots! In July? I am still learning of this bamboo so not sure yet if this is part of the growing season and pattern of this species but I hope so. Our other bamboos have stopped producing new shoots, and any shoots that did not have enough energy have slowly died. These have the purple color that this type of bamboo gets when grown in full sun. Spectacular indeed! A very nice surprise for the holiday.
