The Kinsey Scale

What is the Kinsey Scale? The actual name is “The Heterosexual-Homosexual Rating Scale”, developed in 1948 by Alfred Kinsey with two colleagues after a study that reveals sexuality as fluid and that people don’t fall into two categories of sexual orientation like they do male and female.

0- Exclusively heterosexual with no homosexual
1- Predominantly heterosexual, only incidentally homosexual
2- Predominantly heterosexual, but more than incidentally homosexual
3- Equally heterosexual and homosexual
4- Predominantly homosexual, but more than incidentally heterosexual
5- Predominantly homosexual, only incidentally heterosexual
6- Exclusively homosexual
