At first Arrow (Pseudosasa japonica) was not a favorite of mine but after some time it grew on me. This bamboo has a larger leaf and thinner culm, which goes against my first love of bamboo- the large culms. The larger leaf allows this bamboo to grow in shady areas. Knowing this bamboo will grow very dense and quickly I choose to have a long narrow bed to create a screen in the back of the yard.
