First Shoot Of 2012 – Yellow Groove
What a crazy Spring! Not even April and we have Yellow Groove (Phyllostachys aureosulcata) bamboo shooting already. I have to admit, I have been checking the gardens daily and just when I had stopped looking for the day, I spotted this little guy.
Bamboo… Play Dead! Good boy.

Timber!
Hired a tree service company to clean up trees in our backyard. Most severe cut for a large Oak tree-trio, and smaller trees removed or cleaned up to give way for our bamboo garden to get more sun and height so it doesn't get caught up in the trees.
